Having a rental car in Turkey was a great way of exploring if you're a confident driver. There are countless ancient classical ruins and cities which are best accessed by car, and it gives so much flexibility towards planning your itinerary. Just be wary of Turkish drivers in the cities!

Went to Troy which was brilliant and stayed overnight at Troia Sunset Hotel in Ezine. Drove to Pumakkale which is stunning and well worth a visit of 4 days. Then drove to Bursa for an overnight stop before returning the car to Istanbul SAW airport at 10.00 hrs the next day. Unfortunately there were no staff on hand to receive the car and I repeatedly had to phone them before they drove to meet me.

When you make appointment to drop the car in airport, I suggest you to ask the provider if there is any PIN CODE for the "Rent A Car" parking lot. Otherwise you cannot enter the parking lot.
